How Somatic Practices & Neuroscience Supported My Nervous System
👋🏽 I’m Joselyn Zambrana, LCSW, Afro-Latina EMDR & Somatic Therapist. I grew up navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression and became familiar with the ‘toxic Latina’ stigma because of it.
I tried talk therapy for 7 years & had all the workbooks you can imagine. It helped… but nothing stuck. Why? Because what I lived through caused my nervous system to adapt in ways that weren’t helpful.
Under survival stress, the body and brain respond differently — logic and connection take a back seat...and that’s why talk and inspiration alone didn’t work.
I combined psychology, neuroscience, and somatic healing with my lived experience as a mom, veteran, and wife to create an interactive journey that makes wellness accessible and practical.
